Raffael Adler, Founder and Artistic Director of the New York Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, appeared as conductor throughout the United States, from New York to Los Angeles via Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Honolulu and in Europe form Amsterdam, to Basel, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, with stop-overs in Frankfurt, Helsinki, Hamburg, Leningrad, Moscow, Paris, Wroclaw and Jerusalem, among others. Music critics and audiences alike, have praised his musicianship and stylistic authority. During the past three seasons, Mr. Adler has conducted the Philomusica Chamber Orchestra at the "Spoleto Festival USA" in Charleston, SC., the Kiev Camerata, at the 1996 "International Musik-Fest for Contemporary Music" in Kiev, Ukraine, the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Wroclaw, Poland as well as the "Long Island (NY) Pops Orchestra". In New York City the New York Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, with Raffael Adler conducting, gives concerts in New York's Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and various other venues around town. A champion of American Music, Raffael Adler has premiered many works by American composers, such as Seymour Barab, Meyer Kupferman, Norman Dello Joio, Paul Reiff and Timothy Moes, to name but a few. He has arranged and orchestrated Hassidic(Jewish) tunes dating as far back as the 18th century, which he recorded for the Collectors Guild label on three albums, conducting the Guild Chamber Orchestra and Chorus. Prior to his appointment as Music Director and Conductor of the Rockaway/Five Towns Symphony Orchestra on Long Island, NY, in 1991, he served as Music Director and Conductor of the Huntington Philharmonia (1959-1974), and the Westchester Symphony Orchestra. (1976-1982) Mr. Adler has recorded for Radio NDR-Hamburg and RIAS-Berlin, Germany; Radio Holland-Hilversum; Radio France-Paris; Radio Israel-Jerusalem and for the MHS and Collectors Guild Label.
